Ruth Ellyn Webb, of Atlanta, GA, passed away peacefully on May 11th, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Butler Webb and mother, Ruth Louise Graves Webb. Ellyn is survived by her loving son, David; brother, Thomas (Tommy) Butler Webb, Jr. (Monica), two sisters; nieces, Nicole Webb and Leigh Harvey (John); and numerous relatives and close friends.

An accountant by trade, she will be remembered fondly as the proprietress of Northside Tavern, Atlanta's legendary blues club. Ellyn took over ownership of the bar from her father in 1982, expanding the music and turning Northside Tavern into one of the most sought-after bookings in the southeast. Her compassion and love for band members and employees alike created a warm and welcoming home away from home. Tommy will be carrying on the Northside Tavern legacy.

Visitation will be conducted at H.M. Patterson & Son's Spring Hill Chapel on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm. A celebration of Ellyn's life will follow on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:00am at H.M. Patterson & Son Spring Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
